Last night, I hosted a listening session at the White Oak Community Recreation Center. It was inspiring to see residents come together, share their experiences, and speak openly about both the opportunities and challenges facing the White Oak community. Your honesty and willingness to engage make these conversations meaningful, and I am truly grateful to everyone who took the time to participate.

I want to thank East County Regional Services Center Director, Jewru Bandeh, his team, and the Recreation staff who were instrumental in making this event a success. Thank you also to Nicole Johnson and Michael Bayrd from Comptroller of Maryland Brooke Lierman's office for hosting an information table on Earned Tax Income Credit (EITC) and other important tax resources.

I look forward to staying connected with White Oak!

Read Across America Week was a wonderful chance to celebrate the joy of books and the power of early literacy! Thank you to the amazing educators and little learners at Wonders Early Learning + Extended Day and Journey Preschool for having me as a guest reader. I especially enjoyed sharing one of my favorite books, I Like Myself!, that celebrates self-confidence and self-love by encouraging kids to embrace everything about themselves on the inside and outside.

This past Wednesday, I held my second listening session for Montgomery Village and Gaithersburg. I truly appreciate all who joined us, especially because the event coincided with religious observances for multiple faith communities and occurred the day after the tragic death of a six-year-old boy. The voices of the young people in attendance were particularly powerful, reflecting the deep pride this community has in its youth for their resilience, leadership, and empowerment.

I also want to thank Joe Hooks for his efforts in encouraging fellow residents to attend the meeting and for his steadfast leadership and advocacy through the 480 club. These conversations are essential for raising awareness and informing the decisions I will make during my time on the Council. It is important that the voices of those directly impacted guide the choices we make moving forward. I look forward to staying connected with Montgomery Village and Gaithersburg!

Last night, I hosted my first listening session in Poolesville. I am truly grateful for the residents, community leaders, and the Fair Access for Western Montgomery County for engaging in such a thoughtful and meaningful conversation. Their insights and perspectives are invaluable and will help guide me during my time on the Council. I look forward to continuing these dialogues and having future opportunities to stay connected with the Poolesville community.

Shoutout to Locals for the delicious dinner that my team and I enjoyed before the meeting. We were lucky to visit on a Wednesday pasta night!
