As e-bikes continue to grow in popularity, our Rangers are stepping up enforcement efforts to help keep the American River Parkway safe for everyone.

Recently, Rangers partnered with the Sacramento County Probation UTV Team and CHP motorcycle officers for a targeted enforcement operation along the American River Parkway Multi-Use Trail. The operation focused on addressing unsafe riding behaviors, unauthorized vehicles on the trail and educating riders about Parkway regulations.

During the operation, Rangers issued seven citations and towed four vehicles for violations including excessive speed, operating prohibited vehicles on the trail and licensing-related offenses.

Remember: the American River Parkway Multi-Use Trail has a 15 mph speed limit, Class 3 e-bikes are prohibited on the trail, and e-motorcycles are not allowed.

These enforcement efforts will continue throughout the Parkway as part of our ongoing commitment to public safety and ensuring a safe, enjoyable experience for all visitors.
