But the biggest moments? The 17th Amendment let us elect senators directly, and in 1920, women finally won the right to vote. ✊

In the 1830s, voters started using paper ballots instead of pronouncing their choices. Newspapers even printed tear-out ballots! Of course for Utah, one of the highlights of that time period was Seraph Young becoming the first women to vote In the United States.
