Online registration for the 20th Annual Utah Native American Summit is now closed. Check-In and Onsite Registration will be available from 7:15 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. in the Sorensen Center Commons Area, and includes lunch only.

We look forward to welcoming attendees as we come together to celebrate, learn, and strengthen Indigenous communities. Join us for a full day of inspiring speakers, informative breakout sessions, cultural performances, and meaningful community connections.

We are thrilled to welcome two incredible voices who are inspiring the next generation across Indian Country:

Dougie Hall | Featured Speaker, Utah Native American Summit
An accomplished rodeo athlete, inspirational speaker, entrepreneur, and actor. Dougie’s powerful journey of perseverance, leadership, and resilience continues to inspire audiences everywhere.

Eric Michael Hernandez | Featured Speaker, Indigenous Youth Leadership Program
An acclaimed Native American hoop dancer, filmmaker, and digital storyteller. Eric uses culture, storytelling, and the arts to uplift contemporary Indigenous voices and inspire Native youth.

"When I'm dancing, it allows me to share my story, representing who I am... and the importance of my ancestors." 💃🏽✨

Continuing our celebration of in collaboration with Utah Division of Indian Affairs, we are honored to highlight Camila Losik.

📍 Based in Davis County, Cami is a hoop dancer. 💃 She also dances with BYU Folk Dance.

For Cami, art is representative of her heritage. She admits that "growing up, it was a little scary to say that I was Native American."

Recognizing that "Native American culture is starting to become less common," she is dedicated to keeping her heritage alive. As a dance teacher at BYU, she mentors Native American students, helping the next generation find the courage to share their own stories.

Now Accepting Nominations: 2026 Indigenous Youth Leadership Program Changemaker Award

The Utah Division of Indian Affairs is proud to recognize six outstanding Indigenous youth leaders who are making a positive impact in their Tribal Nations and communities.

We are seeking nominations for American Indian and Alaska Native youth ages 14–24 who demonstrate leadership through:

• Cultural Preservation and Promotion
• Community Service and Engagement
• Academic Excellence and Career Growth

Nominations may be submitted by Tribal leaders, educators, mentors, family members, community members, or through self-nomination. Supporting documentation and video submissions are welcome.
Nominations Open: June 10
Nomination Deadline: June 30 at 11:59 PM

Award recipients will be recognized at the 2026 Utah Native American Summit on July 31 at Utah Valley University.

Join us for a day of learning, inspiration, and community connection! Attend Informative sessions with state and local organizations, inspiring speakers, engaging breakout sessions, cultural performances, and refreshments.
