As Utah plans for the energy needs of the future, we're inviting companies, researchers, and innovators to share their expertise through our Request for Information for the proposed Nuclear Lifecycle Innovation Campus.
Your ideas can help us better understand the technologies, workforce, infrastructure, and partnerships needed to build responsibly for generations to come.

Five days until the community event at the White Mesa Community Center -- and we want to share a little more about what the day will actually look like.

The August 15 gathering runs from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and covers four topics that this community has every right to know more about:

Uranium Mining and Milling -- what it involves, how it has been done in this region, and what the current landscape looks like.

Radiation Health and Safety -- what radiation exposure means for human health, how it is measured, and what resources exist.

Nuclear Energy 101 -- how nuclear power generation actually works, in plain terms.

Used Nuclear Fuel -- what happens to fuel after it generates power, and how it is stored and managed.

Experts in each of these areas will be in the room all day. This is not a presentation you sit through. It is a conversation you are part of.

There is still time to RSVP. Free food is provided for everyone who attends. The first 100 people to RSVP receive a $30 gas card.

Did you know part of our OED team works a full two and a half hour drive from the main office? 🚗

Way out on the edge of the beautiful San Rafael Swell in Emery County 411, you will find the Utah San Rafael Energy Lab. This is coal country, and the folks here are proud of it. They are also determined to keep Utah a national leader in energy, and they are doing exactly that. 💪

This team helps organizations write research grants, do hands-on development work, and solve real energy challenges. They have got the space, the equipment, and the skilled people to make it happen.

The Navajo Nation Utah Chapters & Ute Mountain Ute White Mesa Community have long had questions about uranium, nuclear energy, and what radiation means for the health of families and land in this region.

On August 15, there will be a full day set aside to get some answers.
The Utah Office of Energy Development is hosting a free informational event at the White Mesa Community Center -- a day built around your questions, with experts in the room who will talk with you directly, not at you.

-- Used Nuclear Fuel

The best energy solutions don't happen by accident. They happen when good people come together to solve big challenges.

As Utah plans for the energy needs of the next 25 years, we're asking industry, researchers, and innovators to help shape our proposed Nuclear Lifecycle Innovation Campus.

We're looking for ideas about technology, workforce, infrastructure, and how projects can be developed safely and responsibly. If your organization has experience in advanced nuclear, manufacturing, fuel, research, or related industries, we'd love to hear from you.
