Across the country, the workforce landscape is experiencing rapid evolution, and Career Team remains committed to driving meaningful, measurable impact within the communities we serve.

Over the past several weeks, our leadership and regional teams had the privilege of participating in six major workforce and education conferences nationwide: SETA, CWA, Michigan Works, ACCSC, the Maryland Workforce Association Annual Conference, and the NASWA Summit.

From modernizing service delivery models and integrating digital workforce solutions to expanding career pathways for job seekers, each event provided invaluable opportunities to collaborate with agency directors, board members, and industry partners.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the event organizers and to every leader who took the time to connect with our team. Strong workforce ecosystems are built through partnership, shared expertise, and continuous innovation.

Today we are proud to highlight an incredible Team member from our Jefferson Parish project in Louisiana! 👏

Meet Shannon Hargrove, our dedicated Career Advisor and Local Training Coordinator (LTC). Whether guiding participants toward life-changing careers or ensuring teammates are set up for success through compliance and onboarding training, Shannon brings exceptional pride, collaboration, and diligence to everything he does.

From providing WIOA services, resume assistance, and job-search support to VIPs, Shannon’s daily focus is on removing barriers and driving long-term self-sufficiency.

Reflecting on Career Team Core Values, Shannon shared: "Providing the WOW! represents the value that resonates most with me because it brings all of our Core Values together, creating meaningful and dynamic change for the community we serve through the Jefferson Parish project. My team and I truly transform people's lives through our workforce efforts, closing the opportunity divide through occupational skills training and using our innovative Career Edge platform to provide an exemplary VIP experience to all who visit our facilities."

We are proud to highlight an inspiring milestone and celebrate the resilience of one of our VIPs, Carolina, who connected with our VC Works Team! 👏

Driven by the goal of building a stable and rewarding career in healthcare, Carolina enrolled in the VC Works Program to pursue training as a Sterile Processing and Distribution (SPD) Technician.

Carolina’s journey required extraordinary perseverance. She worked part-time during the week while traveling long-distance from Ventura County to Bakersfield every weekend to attend her training. Through working with Lorraine and the VC Works team, Carolina received individualized case management, tuition assistance, and supportive services to cover her CBSPD certification examination fee ensuring financial barriers never stood in the way of her ambition.

Carolina maintained top academic standing, completed her coursework, and scheduled her certification exam while getting connected to local technician opportunities in Ventura County.
Her journey is a powerful testament to what happens when personal dedication meets personalized workforce support.

What a week convening with Workforce leaders from across the country at the 2026 NASWA Summit in Milwaukee!

As both a statewide software platform and a boots-on-the-ground services provider, Career Team remains more committed than ever to ensuring our solutions meet the evolving needs of the career seekers, employers, partners, and dedicated staff who bring these programs to life. The themes that emerged this week, particularly around integrating disparate systems, streamlining Workforce Pell pathways, and modernizing legacy processes, are challenges we take seriously. They are also the standard we hold our own solutions to as we work alongside state agencies pursuing these goals.

Thank you to every state workforce leader, agency director, and partner who took the time to connect with our team this week. We look forward to continuing this work together.

We are proud to highlight an inspiring milestone and celebrate the resilience of one of our VIPs, Bethany who connected with our North Central Texas Team! 👏

After experiencing a major life transition, Bethany found herself needing to reenter the workforce as a displaced homemaker while supporting her family. Determined to build a stable and sustainable future, she enrolled into the WIOA program to pursue training as a Dental Assistant.

Through working with her Career Advisor, Angela, and the program Bethany was able receive essential supportive services, including childcare assistance, mileage reimbursement, and tuition assistance, allowing Bethany to stay fully focused on her coursework and career goals.
Bethany’s dedication and hard work paid off. She successfully completed her training and secured employment at a dental office, where she is now thriving in a rewarding new career.

Reflecting on her journey, Bethany shared:"I truly appreciate everything you’ve done for me throughout this process. I couldn’t have made it to this point without the support of you and the WIOA program."

When Shawn relocated to Northern New Mexico in December 2024, he was ready for a big career change. He set his sights on earning a Class A Commercial Driver's License and landing full-time work as a truck driver, and the WIOA Title I Adult Program helped him get there.

With tuition assistance through WIOA Title I funds, Shawn enrolled in the CDL program at San Juan College. He strengthened his financial knowledge through CareerEDGE, persevered through the SHL Basic Skills Assessment, and brought a positive, engaged attitude to every step of his training.

By mid-March 2026, Shawn had earned his Class A CDL with Tanker, Double, and Triple Endorsements, along with Air Brakes and Forklift certifications. That same week, he secured full-time employment with the La Plata County Motor Bridge Department as an Equipment Operator / CDL Driver. Reflecting on his accomplishment, Shawn proudly shared, "This will be the last job I ever have!"

"Shawn faced challenges early on, but he persevered and passed, demonstrating the determination and commitment it took to achieve his goals," said Tracee Loughran, Shawn's Career Advisor.
