Meet Veda Jackson, a Case Manager who meets Orange County job seekers exactly where they are, providing the guidance and accountability they need to move forward with confidence!

Veda’s work is grounded in her favorite Career Team Core Value: We Keep Our Word. Period.

"Clear, transparent communication builds trust," Veda says. "By following through on commitments, I strengthen accountability for myself and for the VIPs I serve."

Executive Director, Kelly Alesi, also highlights the impact of this approach, "Veda is truly dedicated to helping her clients define and achieve their own success. She strikes the perfect balance between encouragement and accountability. It’s a joy to see the care, excellence, and passion she brings to her work every day."

Veda brings that same drive outside the office as she completed her first half marathon in Kauai, Hawaii, a feat she calls "beautiful and brutal!"

Thank you, Veda, for always knowing when to ZAG and for your unwavering dedication to our community.

Career Team and the Oregon Employment Department Launch Statewide Workforce Modernization Project

We're proud to officially announce the launch of the Oregon Employment Department Workforce Modernization Project, a bold, collaborative effort to reimagine how workforce services are delivered across the state.

Over four full days of intensive working sessions, more than 400 Oregon workforce development professionals sat side by side with Career Team to tackle the challenges we've seen play out in state after state across the country:

We confronted legacy systems that don't talk to each other, creating barriers for our teams and the customers they serve. We examined user experiences shaped by 20-year-old systems, rather than centered on the real people behind every interaction. We looked hard at business processes built around software constraints, instead of being designed to deliver meaningful outcomes. And we tackled the problem of data locked in silos, when it should be driving smarter, faster decisions.

These aren't problems unique to any one state, they're symptoms of a workforce technology landscape that hasn't kept pace with the people it's meant to serve.

Workforce software across the country is undergoing a revolutionary shift, and Career Team is proud to lead these efforts alongside forward-thinking partners like Oregon. Together, we're moving from systems that constrain to systems that empower, putting people, outcomes, and data-driven decision-making at the center of workforce development.

This is just the beginning. We're grateful to the Oregon Employment Department and the hundreds of dedicated professionals who showed up ready to do the hard, important work of building something better.

Today we’re proud to celebrate Pooya and his career transition from a dislocated worker to a small business owner in Santa Fe.

Pooya, a Veteran, connected with our Northern New Mexico Team after experiencing a permanent layoff from his role as a contracted analyst at Sandia National Laboratories. He partnered with Career Advisor Phyllis Christy, who is also a Veteran, and identified a 3D printing training program as his pathway to a new career.

With WIOA funding support, Pooya successfully completed his 3D printing course in November 2025. In March, he presented his new business at One Million Cups, launching an innovative product called Noosh Jars. Named after the Persian word meaning “to enjoy” and inspired by his mother, the jars are 3D-printed using wood-fiber material and contain engraved wooden coins embedded with QR codes. When scanned, these codes link to multimedia memories like videos, audio, and recipes.

Today, Pooya is actively fulfilling customer orders and growing his business. His transition highlights the tangible impact of vocational training and personalized career guidance.

Phyllis Christy noted the following about his achievements, "Pooya’s journey from dislocated worker to entrepreneur highlights the transformative impact of WIOA-funded training and personalized career support. Pooya’s success is not only a testament to his resilience and creativity, but also a powerful example of how workforce programs can help individuals turn vision into reality."

Congratulations, Pooya! We are proud to support your business venture and your continued success in the Santa Fe community.

Welcome to the Team Jackie! 🥳

Jackie joins Career Team as our Senior Delivery and Product Manager, bringing seven years of experience building software that actually works for people.

Her career in Government Tech has spanned modernizing how local governments manage budgets, expanding broadband access for Tribal communities, and helping Massachusetts residents navigate paid family and medical leave. Different roles, one goal: making public services more accessible, more human, and more effective.

That passion for technology in public service is exactly what drew Jackie to Career Team. She's energized by the product work she can do with the Career Edge platform, a technology that opens doors for people navigating their careers and contributing to economic growth.
