What is the American Conversation Project?
ACP brings people together in small groups to share real-life stories—no scripts, no debates, and no “winners.” It’s all about what you love about where you live, what feels challenging, what gives you hope, and how you’d like to take action to strengthen your community.
Conversations are hosted by trusted local organizations (like us!) and may be recorded with your permission. Recordings help ACP and partner organization Cortico understand themes and experiences across communities nationwide—always respectfully and never for political purposes.
Important Notes:
• Recordings only happen with your permission.
• No names or identifying details are attached.
• Stories are never taken out of context or used as data points.
• Insights from many conversations are shared back with communities.
• ACP is a nonpartisan civic listening initiative.
By participating, you’ll be heard, you’ll connect with neighbors, and you’ll contribute to a project showing what Americans are thinking and feeling during the nation’s 250th anniversary.
