Yesterday, Siena University Bonner Program students rolled up their sleeves at our 8th Street Community Garden in Troy, clearing difficult-to-reach fence lines, improving the shed, and helping revitalize this unique growing space.

With 𝟮𝟬 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗻, their hard work will make an impact for years to come. We’re grateful to the Siena Saints for putting service into action and giving back to our community! 💚

Chef Ryan is the Executive Chef at Bloom Boutique Bar & Eatery, a vibrant, flower-filled restaurant in Albany where incredible cocktails, flavorful dishes, and good company come together.

Migliorelli Farm is a multi-generational family farm in Red Hook, NY. The Migliorelli family has been growing fruits and vegetables in New York for generations and now produces more than 140 varieties of heritage fruits and vegetables.

We're so excited to see what their pairing creates for the evening!

Our shopper’s favorite quenepas are back at the Good Food Market! Try this delicious treat and stop by this week before they’re gone!

Quenepas season is here and we have them in stock! We are thrilled to provide this fruit that is culturally significant and beloved by so many of our shoppers.

When we learned about the importance and desire for this fruit from our community over a decade ago, we made sure to make them available season after season. It’s a little celebration at Capital Roots when they arrive, and we love to see the excitement they bring.

Today, our Produce Project students joined volunteers from CDPHP and Albany Law School to grow greener, healthier spaces in our community.

Using hands-on learning and teamwork skills developed during the summer, they worked with our groups to plant shrubs along the freeway in Cohoes. This project will create lasting benefits for our neighborhoods and future generations.

Today, on Dean Leith Day, we celebrate the vision, passion, and spirit of the person who started it all.

Fifty-plus years ago, Dean Leith believed everyone deserved access to fresh food, green spaces, and the opportunity to grow their own. His vision began with a single garden and grew into Capital Roots, connecting communities across the to food, gardens, and healthier lives.

Today, his efforts have grown into programs like Squash Hunger, Veggie Mobile®, the Good Food Market and Urban Greening.
