Park Maui FAQ:

Q: How do residents scan their driver’s license to get free parking at Kama‘ole I & III Beaches?

A: Kamaʻāina can use the Park Maui app or a pay station to validate free parking with a valid Hawaiʻi driver’s license.

At Kama‘ole I & III Beaches in Kīhei, kamaʻāina benefits include FREE PARKING ALL DAY, EVERY DAY with a valid Hawaiʻi driver’s license. On weekends and County-observed holidays, parking will be reserved for RESIDENTS ONLY before 10 a.m.

For kamaʻāina verification in the Park Maui app, navigate to “Account”, then click “Residential Discount” to scan the large barcode on the BACK of your valid Hawaiʻi driver’s license. Be sure to hold the driver’s license at least 7-9 inches away from your phone camera to ensure a proper scan.

Need help scanning your driver's license in the app? Our friendly parking ambassadors are on-site at Kamaʻole I & III paved lots to help. You can also use a pay station and follow the on-screen instructions to start your free session. Just bring your Hawaiʻi driver's license and know your license plate number.

Once verified, you can park, “pay” $0.00 to receive the free resident parking benefit, and head to the beach — ticketless and without needing to place anything on your dashboard.
