It was great to see the Eugene Emergency Physicians in Washington, D.C. this week and I'm glad they have reached a contract agreement with PeaceHealth.

Oregon protects local control of healthcare by preventing unlicensed corporations from owning medical practices or directly employing physicians. Healthcare decisions should be driven by patients and providers—not corporate shareholders. We need more of that nationwide.

Oregon wildlife and park officials are encouraging the public to spend time outside the first weekend of June. The public can park at state parks for free on June 6, and fish for free on June 6-7.

Thank you to Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l for having me at your summit this week. Pilots are among the strongest advocates for aviation safety. Their efforts help those of us in Congress pass strong, bipartisan aviation safety laws.

It's critical that the final ALERT Act include strong requirements for integrated ADS-B In technology on commercial aircraft to prevent unnecessary tragedies in the future.

Tonight the House passed the War Powers Resolution to hold the Administration accountable for this unconstitutional, immoral and costly forever war that no American wants. According to the Constitution: The President does not have the authority to declare war. That authority rests solely with Congress.

It was great to join Newport Rotary last week to share an update on what’s happening in DC, talk about Oregon’s infrastructure needs and discuss funding coming to Lincoln County.

This community’s success in bringing the Coast Guard helicopter back to Newport is a reminder of what we can accomplish when we come together.
