Yesterday I toured the Roadmaster manufacturing facility, and they really are like the anti-Temu. They make everything they can right here in Southwest Washington and they don’t build it to fall apart.

In a market full of cheap imported plastic junk, I’m proud to meet people who make stuff that’s worth having and to talk with them about how to keep supporting jobs here in Southwest Washington.

Clean drinking water is the foundation of good government.

This year I requested $4.5 million for clean water projects across Southwest Washington – and much of this funding is working its way to a vote on the House floor.

From PFAS remediation in Camas to drying beds in Chehalis, these projects will help deliver clean water and bring down costs for ratepayers.

In Southwest Washington, we take pride in the makers and the doers. I recently visited the Northwest Paper Box Manufacturers in Camas to learn more from this second-generation family business on how we can fight consolidation and support our small businesses–their work is so important to pushing back on single-use plastics and using our natural resources responsibly.

It's my responsibility in Congress to make sure that federal dollars are being spent responsibly. To do that, we need to know what we’re spending our money on, and why.

So when I got the chance to question Russell Vought from the Office of Management and Budget, I made sure to press him on making sure our community funding is going back to our communities–and not being used as political leverage.

It's up to all of us to help protect our forests. Be careful not to smoke near brush, drive or park on tall grass, or drag trailer chains. And if you see a fire, call 911 right away. Thank you to all our first responders for the work they do keeping us safe from wildfires.

Very High Fire Danger.

Fire officials on the Gifford Pinchot National Forest have raised the fire danger rating from ‘high’ to ‘very high’. This reflects conditions where fires can start easily, spread rapidly, and become more difficult for firefighters to control.

The public is asked to do everything they can to avoid additional fire starts. Even small ignition sources, such as a dropped match, abandoned campfire, or a dragging trailer chain, can lead to fast‑moving wildfires under these circumstances. All campfires, charcoal or briquette fires, pellet fires, or any other open fires are prohibited under a Forest Order.

Visitors to National Forest lands are urged to take the following precautions:
✅ Follow all current fire restrictions and closures.
✅ Avoid activities that can create sparks, including smoking near vegetation, driving over tall grass or dragging trailer chains.
✅ Carry a shovel, water, and a fire extinguisher when traveling in forested areas.
✅ Report any wildfires by calling 911.

The post office is a lifeline for all of us who live in rural communities. USPS is how we vote-by-mail, pay our bills on time, and get local news.

When the Ethel Post Office closed, I sent a letter to USPS urging them not to let the closure become a disruption to this community.

It’s an honor to recognize Eunice Sparks from La Center as my 2026 Congressional Art Competition winner. Eunice brought Southwest Washington to life and her painting displays a reverence and familiarity with our land to every person that sees it in the tunnels of Congress. Congrats Eunice!
