South Texas farmers shouldn’t have to face uncertainty because Mexico doesn’t fully uphold it’s end of the 1944 Water Treaty. When USMCA renegotiations begin next month, we must enforce safeguards to get our farmers the water they need.

However, we also can’t ignore that these water payments only go so far without the proper infrastructure in place to prevent evaporation and seepage. I remain committed to bringing home more federal resources to improve our water storage capacity and ensure Mexico delivers the water that is owed.

The Rio Grande Valley is blossoming and home to some of the safest neighborhoods in the country.

But there's still work to be done, and I'll keep fighting to bring federal investments and good-paying jobs to our region.

Free trade deals like the USMCA have greatly benefited South Texas's economy. But to maintain our region's role as a key international trade corridor, we must use next month's USMCA renegotiations as an opportunity to enact measures to safeguard cargo from falling in the hands of drug cartels and other criminal organizations.

Congratulations to South Texan, Steve Sanchez, on celebrating 50 years of service working for the North Alamo Water Supply Corporation. Mr. Sanchez began his career right out of high school as a water meter reader, and has served as a General Manager since 2010.

commemorated his achievement with a U.S. flag flown over the Capitol and a letter of recognition on my behalf. Thank you for you hard work and dedication to our region, Mr. Sanchez!

Millions of seniors will face devastating $500 monthly cuts to their benefits unless Congress acts to close the funding shortfall and reverse this Administration's cuts to Social Security.

I'm fighting to defend a critical lifeline that so many South Texas seniors, workers with disabilities, and veterans rely on. Failure is not an option -- and every extreme Republican in Congress who refuses to speak out are complicit in taking more of your hard earned money.

The Rio Grande Valley is a booming region--in large part because of the work we're doing to expand educational opportunities for South Texas children.

Over the last decade, I've delivered nearly $8 billion in federal funding to our region for Title I schools and more.

Although this Administration wants to put Title I funds on the chopping block, I won't stop fighting to ensure every child can reach their full potential.

The Administration's answer to their self-created crisis of rising health care costs: take out a loan.

This is beyond shameful and does absolutely nothing to lower your costs.

One-third of Americans shoulder health care debt. Insurers are being asked to consider lending money to Obamacare consumers who can’t afford higher deductibles.

It was a pleasure to welcome leaders from across the Rio Grande Valley to our nation’s Capital for the annual RGV to DC trip! Together, we will continue our efforts to bring federal resources home that will help grow the region and strengthen our economy.

From the Port of Brownsville to the energy corridors of the Valley and the classrooms of UTRGV to the small businesses lining our Main Streets, we are building something great that will last for generations to come!

Great to welcome the Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce to my D.C. office this week.

As someone who grew up in Corpus, I know firsthand the difference federal investments can make in raising the quality of living and growing our economy. This starts with addressing a severe water shortage and creating more high-paying jobs.
