Samuel Withers is graduating first in the WSHS Class of 2026 with an unweighted GPA of 98.056. He serves as Co-President of the Green Team and Captain of the Cross Country team, and also participates in track, swimming, Science Olympiad, and the Tri-M Music Honor Society. Samuel has earned Maine Principals’ Association (MPA) honors, is a National Merit Finalist, a Presidential Scholar Candidate, and an AP Scholar with Honor. Outside of school, he has gained valuable experience working at the Colby College Museum of Art. He is also committed to service, contributing as a youth organizer with Just ME for Just US and as a member of the Waterville Youth Council. Samuel plans to attend Brown University to study mechanical engineering. He is the son of Julianne Gilland of Waterville, Maine.

Leah Zeimetz is graduating second in the WSHS Class of 2026 with an unweighted GPA of 98.027. She serves as Vice President of the Green Team, President of the Tri-M Music Honor Society, and Class President, and is a member of the National Honor Society and National French Honor Society. Leah is also a student representative to the Waterville School Board. She participates in Capital Strings and the Kennebec Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra, and is a captain of the cross country team and a member of the track and field team. Leah was selected for the All-State Honors Orchestra and All-Eastern Honors Orchestra, and has received the Kennebec Valley Honors Orchestra recognition, a Renaissance Award, the Princeton University Book Award, the Dartmouth College Book Award, and the University of Rochester Bausch and Lomb Science Award. She volunteers as a childcare helper and musician at First Church of Waterville, an assistant teacher for the ASHS Science Club, a violin practice partner at the Suzuki Institute, and a poll worker on election day. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Tri-M Music Honor Society, Green Team, Waterville Youth Council, Waterville School Board Student Representative, Student Council, Upward Bound, and Tennis team. Taylor received a Certificate of Achievement in Health Award, a Worcester Polytechnic Institute Innovation Award, Smith College Book Award, a Renaissance Award , and a Maine Volunteer Roll of Honor Award. Taylor works for the City of Waterville Parks and Rec. and Governor’s Restaurant. She volunteers at Brookside Elementary School and as a poll worker on election day. He participated in Boys Tennis (Captain), Esports, Unified Basketball, Intramural Volleyball and Basketball. Colby received the Student Sage award, a Renaissance Award for Good School Citizen, Character, and Academics, Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference (KVAC) all-conference 1st team doubles player, and KVAC all-conference 1st team singles player. He volunteered as a partner with the Waterville Unified Basketball program. Colby plans to attend a 4-year college and play college tennis. He is the son of Andrea and Jason Tardif of Waterville, Maine.

He participated in Boys Tennis (Captain), Esports, Intramural Sports, Unified Basketball, and was a member of the National Honor Society. Trevor won a Renaissance Award for Academics, Character, and Good School Citizen, a Student Sage Award and was named a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference All-Conference 1st team singles player in Tennis. He volunteered as a partner with the Waterville Unified Basketball Program. He plans to attend a four-year college and play collegiate tennis. Piper Hamilton is graduating seventh in the WSHS Class of 2026 with an unweighted GPA of 95.977. She serves as Historian of Key Club, Vice President of Student Council, and is a member of Class Officers, National Honor Society, and Homeroom Buddies. Piper is Captain of both the girls soccer and girls tennis teams. She has received a Renaissance Award for academics, citizenship, service, and character, and earned All-Conference honors in both soccer and tennis, including KVAC First Team recognition. She has also achieved High Honors all four years. Piper works as a head youth tennis instructor at the Waterville Public Tennis Courts and has completed over 90 hours of community service. She is Captain of the soccer, basketball, and track and field teams, and is a member of the Junior Classical League, National Honor Society, National French Honor Society, National Latin Honor Society, Class Officers, and Student Council. Madison has received a Renaissance Award for academics. She works at the Waterville Country Club and volunteers at basketball youth camps, United Way’s Day of Caring, and WSHS craft fairs.
