Meet Our New Staff:
Lisa Wheeler is the new one-year art teacher at WSHS, where she teaches Intro to Art, Painting, Ceramics, and Mosaics. She previously taught art at Brookside School, Albert S. Hall School, and WJHS. Most recently, she served as Education Manager at Waterville Creates, where she taught workshops, classes, and camps in a variety of media. Before becoming an educator, Lisa enjoyed a career in graphic design and marketing services. She completed her degree in Studio Art at UMaine Augusta and earned her teaching certificate at UMaine Orono. Something you may not know about Mrs. Wheeler is that much to her surprise, when a friend asked her to go rowing this summer, it quickly became one of her favorite things to do. She spent the summer driving to Belfast most Wednesday mornings for an 8am row around Belfast Harbor with a crew of six in a 32-foot Cornish Gig.

Meet Our New Staff:
Jennifer Owens is our new Health & Physical Education Teacher at WSHS. She graduated from Purdue University where she earned her degree in Health & Wellness. Jenn brings to WSHS a passion for fitness, health & wellness and helping students develop lifelong healthy habits. Outside of school, she enjoys traveling, physical activity and spending time 'upta camp' on Moosehead Lake with family and friends. She is proud to have built a career around her passions in life. A couple things you may not know about Jenn is that she is a huge dog lover and has two rescue dogs named Tripp and Summit. She also enjoys indulging in true crime documentaries and podcasts.

Waterville Public Schools is hosting an immunization clinic this Wednesday at Waterville Senior High School from 2pm - 6pm. This is a free clinic that serves all our area schools.

Beginning this school year, Maine's new law regarding personal electronic devices takes effect in schools across the state.

At Waterville Senior High School, personal electronic devices—including cell phones, smartwatches, earbuds/headphones, iPads and tablets, and personally owned laptops—must be stored in student lockers from the first bell until dismissal. School-issued instructional devices may be used as directed by staff.

This change is about creating classrooms where students can focus, engage, build stronger relationships, and make the most of every learning opportunity.
