Pardon Our Dust! We're busy Rebuilding Waukegan!

Our FY27 Road Program is officially underway. You may have already noticed crews replacing curbs and sidewalks as they prepare streets for resurfacing.

This is just the beginning. In addition to our annual Road Program, some roads undergoing lead service line replacement will also be resurfaced as work is completed.

Please slow down, watch for workers, and use extra caution when traveling through construction areas as we continue Rebuilding Waukegan.

The Lcdot - Lake County, IL Division of Transportation is currently installing a traffic signal at the intersection of Northern Avenue and Sunset Avenue.

Motorists should expect minor delays while construction is underway. Once complete, this improvement is expected to enhance safety and improve traffic flow for residents in Waukegan’s 5th and 8th Wards.

Thank you for your patience as this project progresses.
