Next week at Mapped Out 2026, we are excited to welcome George Havakis, Managing Director of GISSA International, to the stage.

In his presentation, George will guide attendees through the practical implementation of asset data standards, drawing on his extensive experience to provide pragmatic, real world insights.

The session directly addresses persistent challenges highlighted in Auditor General reports, such as incomplete as-constructed data, duplicate assets and poor handover processes, that create financial, operational and safety risks. Using A-SPEC as a case study, George will outline a six phase implementation approach to establish robust asset handover workflows, demonstrating how to operationalise a collaborative standard for digital as-constructed data supply supported by the GDV Hub validation platform.

An extremely productive Strategic Planning Workshop was held today in Wagga Wagga. The REROC Board, CEO and Staff worked closely together to devise a strong plan for our future. Our facilitator was the director of Projectura Karina Dooley. This exercise demonstrated how connected, and collaborative our group of regional councils are - working hard to achieve excellent outcomes for the communities that we serve in the Eastern Riverina.
