Does your organisation, whether local council, agricultural business or industrial facility, need to find new sources of revenue, sustainable jobs and better ways to manage organic waste and emerging contaminant headaches?

What if your organisation had a new source of renewable gas made from organic residues that also generated valuable solid carbon products? Products that can help rebuild farm soils, decarbonise hard-to-abate industries and aid in reversing climate change via emissions reduction and CO₂ removal?

We’re thrilled to welcome Craig Bagnall, Director of Environment & Regulatory at SEATA Group / Catalyst Environmental Management, to the IEWCE 2026 speaker lineup!

In his session Craig will explore how circular carbon technologies like SEATA in combination with a new Australian Standard under development, could help organisations harness these emerging opportunities as an alternative to linear, expensive incineration.

With 30 years experience across mining, waste and energy, as well as active roles with ANZBIG and standard setting panels, Craig brings extensive expertise in circular carbon opportunities.

What if regional electricity networks could see problems before they became major outages?

We’re excited to welcome Nathan Oxley, Chief Technology Officer & Co-Founder of Edge Zero, as a speaker at IEWCE 2026.

Nathan’s presentation, Seeing the Grid at the Edge: Real-Time Feeder Visibility for Faster Outage Response and Flexible, Resilient Regional Networks, will explore how real time monitoring at the distribution transformer is giving utilities greater visibility into the low voltage network.

He’ll share how this technology can help detect and locate outages faster, improve quality of supply and support more proactive network management, while also enabling greater flexibility and resilience across regional communities.

With a background spanning electronics, embedded systems, software and product development, Nathan leads Edge Zero’s technology team and works closely with electricity distribution utilities across Australia, New Zealand and internationally.

Join Nathan and an outstanding lineup of industry experts for two days of practical insights, innovation and real-world solutions.

Did you know that every litre of water lost from a network also wastes the energy used to extract, treat and pump it?

We’re excited to welcome Josh Barnes, Works Engineer at Orange City Council - Wiradjuri Country, and Jessie Parish, Water Project Officer at Central NSW Joint Organisation, to the IEWCE 2026 speaker lineup! Together, they bring extensive regional expertise to showcase how smart water loss management can drive down energy use and emissions.

Key takeaways include:
💧 The water energy nexus - How reducing water losses can directly reduce energy consumption and emissions.
🔧 Practical solutions - Actionable strategies including leak detection, pressure management, better data and staff capability building.
🤝 Regional collaboration - How working together can help reduce operating costs and support more sustainable water services across regional NSW.

With Josh bringing more than 20 years of local government water engineering experience and Jessie’s expertise in delivering complex regional projects, this session will offer valuable insights for councils, water utilities and anyone working to improve water and energy efficiency.
