👶 Please be aware that due to our volunteer being unavailable, Bounce and Rhyme this afternoon will be a self led Stay and Play session. Toys and instruments will be available along with hot and cold drinks for parents. Thank you for your understanding. 👶

We are saddened to see the news that the wonderful Dolly Parton has passed away 💔

Most famous for her incredible music career, Dolly also donated over 300 million books to children across the world, through her Imagination Library scheme - something we as librarians wholeheartedly endorse.

RIP Dolly, you will be missed.

In 'Sound Detectives: Beats, Books & Birds' you'll join the brilliant singer-songwriter Jess Morgan for a fantastic music-themed session! Come and play detective have fun listening to different sounds and music, and enjoy responding with words and mark-making. Children are invited to create a final postcard, telling the story of their favourite sounds.

We have a new book of the week, recommended by our manager Tess. It makes for a fabulous summer, holiday read.

Remembering Together have their Bereavement Cafe in until midday this morning (Tuesday 21 July) with some lovely craft activities but as always no pressure to talk or craft, it's a friendly, supportive safe space. Our sessions are free, drop in's no need to book. You can find our group in our foyer by the main entrance and free refreshments are available in the main library area.

The Summer Holidays have begun! ☀️ Are you looking for something for the children to do that is fun and completely free?

Why not join the Summer Reading Challenge.

Step one: go to your local library and sign up to the Summer Reading Challenge.

Step two: complete six reading challenges over the summer, get loads of stickers, a medal, a certificate, enjoy brilliant books and basically have a fantastic time taking part in a free activity that keeps you entertained over the holidays!
