North West Fire Control

25 years on we remember all those who tragically lost their lives and all those whose lives were changed forever.

Thinking of the families, their loved ones and the firefighters, crews and emergency services who showed such incredible selfless courage that day.

We will remember 💗

A huge thank you to our amazing control room and support staff who have been working tirelessly throughout this extreme weather.

From supporting wildfires and water rescues to supporting our Fire and Rescue colleagues.

Your hard work and contribution is appreciated and is making a real difference everyday. Thank you 🚒🚒👏👏👏

Behind every emergency response is a Fire Control team.

As firefighters continue to respond to wildfires and other incidents across the country, Fire Control teams have been working around the clock, dealing with thousands of calls and coordinating resources in extremely challenging conditions.

Their professionalism, resilience and calm decision-making help ensure help reaches those who need it most.

Phil Garrigan, NFCC Chair, said, "We also recognise the extraordinary efforts of firefighters, control teams and support staff who continue to work around the clock in extremely challenging conditions to protect life, property and the environment."

The warm weather is here to stay!

If you are going out to enjoy the countryside please remember to act responsibly and protect the moors

Our message is simple: NEVER have a fire or barbecue on the moors

Most wildfires are preventable.

Avoid using disposable barbecues in open spaces, take litter home, and never discard ci******es, matches or glass bottles where they could ignite dry vegetation.

Together, we can reduce the risk, protect our environment and support our emergency services during this period of heightened wildfire activity.
