**Lao wisdom** is not merely a collection of ancient objects or traditions inherited from the past. It represents the knowledge, skills, experience and ways of thinking that Lao people have accumulated, refined and passed down through generations.
This wisdom can be found in handweaving, natural dyeing, basketry, woodcarving, silver and gold craftsmanship, pottery, traditional cuisine, herbal knowledge, music, dance, rituals, language, literature and ways of living in harmony with nature.
Every motif, every skill and every step of the creative process carries a story, a belief, an identity and the spirit of its community. Lao wisdom is therefore not only **cultural heritage**, but also **intellectual capital, a source of livelihoods and a powerful economic asset** that can be creatively developed for the modern world.
