Building stronger bonds with our ASEAN family!

H.E. Norli Muadza Noor, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Lao PDR, had a great time connecting with fellow ASEAN colleagues at the ASEAN Women Circle in Vientiane Committee (AWCV) Meeting on 4 September 2026.

Supporting Our Young Harimau! The Embassy of Malaysia in Vientiane extends its warmest wishes and support to Malaysia’s U-20 national football team as they take on Indonesia, Australia and Laos this week at the Laos National Stadium, Vientiane.

We are proud to see our young Malaysian footballers representing the nation with determination, passion and sporting spirit. May they give their very best and continue to fly the Jalur Gemilang high on the international stage. All the best in your next match against Australia and Laos.

On 27 August 2026, H.E. Norli Muadza Noor, Ambassador-designate of Malaysia to the Lao PDR, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Dr. Bounthanongsack Chantalath, Director General of the Asia-Pacific and Africa Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Lao PDR.

In light of the milestone 60th Anniversary of Malaysia–Lao PDR Diplomatic Relations, both sides discussed upcoming joint programmes and initiatives to celebrate six decades of enduring friendship. Discussions also highlighted key avenues to deepen economic, cultural, and people-to-people connections.
Ambassador reaffirmed Malaysia’s strong commitment to working closely with Lao counterparts to elevate bilateral cooperation to greater heights.

H.E. Norli Muadza Mohd Noor, Ambassador-Designate of Malaysia to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic arrived at Wattay International Airport on 24 August 2026 to officially assume her post.

She was received by Embassy officials and fellow Ambassadors of ASEAN Member States, underscoring the strong spirit of diplomatic solidarity and regional cooperation within ASEAN.

Her assumption of leadership coincides with a significant historic milestone: The 60th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Malaysia and Lao PDR (1966–2026).

Under H.E. Ambassador Norli Muadza's leadership, the Embassy remains committed to advancing bilateral trade, strengthening strategic partnerships, and elevating economic and cultural collaboration between both nations.

The Embassy of Malaysia in Vientiane is proud to announce that H.E. Norli Muadza Mohd Noor, Ambassador-Designate of Malaysia to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, officially assumed her duties on 26 August 2026.

On her first day, Her Excellency met with diplomatic officers and embassy staff for a comprehensive strategic briefing, outlining her vision to elevate Malaysia–Lao PDR relations to new heights.
The Embassy team looks forward to an impactful chapter of growth, collaboration, and diplomatic excellence under Her Excellency’s leadership.
