Ōhoka School Wearable Arts 2026

We are thrilled to announce the concept for our upcoming school wide Wearable Arts Show, and it is truly out of this world!

This year, our show follows the adventures of Zog and Xylar, two curious alien tourists from deep space who have landed their spaceship right here at Ōhoka School. They are searching the galaxy for a brand new planet to call home, and they need our students to show them what makes Earth so special.

Guided by two of our very own Ōhoka students, the aliens will embark on an incredible journey of discovery, zooming out from our local backyard to the world stage.

Through incredible wearable art designs from native birds and historic buildings to global wonders, our students will share exactly why these places are considered true taonga (treasures).

Today our amazing Kapa Haka group performed at the North Canterbury Festival in our school hall! You all did us proud, poho kererū! 🩷
