💜 This , we celebrate women's leadership in climate resilience!

Switzerland, through the Regional Thematic Hub of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) in Bangkok, proudly co-finances the project EmPower: Women for Climate Resilient Societies alongside Sweden, New Zealand, and Germany. Our support helps identify vulnerable groups in Indonesia, Bangladesh and Cambodia providing them with technical and financial training and access to investment opportunities ♀️

Last year, representatives from the SDC offices in Bangkok and Phnom Penh joined a mission of this UN-Women and UN Environment Programme-led project to 🇰🇭, meeting women entrepreneurs leading climate solutions—from organic fertilizer production to solar-powered farming. Among them, Im Heng (pictured above), a farmer from Takeo Province. With EmPower’s programme support, she purchased a solar-powered pump that delivers water directly into a sprinkler system covering her fields. Along with being easier to manoeuvre, the setup has helped reduce her monthly electricity bill by about 30,000 Cambodian riels (USD 7), a large sum for a subsistence farmer.

On February 20th 1938, Romansh became Switzerland’s fourth national language, after German, French and Italian which had been declared official languages in the Federal Constitution of 1848.

In 1996 Romansh was then elevated to a 'partially official' language of the Confederation, which made it an official language for correspondence with Romansh-speaking people. Today, Romansh is the main language of 0.5% of the Swiss population, equivalent to 47’000 people.

The Swiss company Mycrobez is developing a zero-waste, industrially scalable packaging and insulation material by combining organic waste and mushroom roots (mycelium) to create a natural foam. 🌱The foam offers excellent shock resistance, thermal and acoustic insulation, and remarkable lightness. Thanks to its adaptable properties, it is used in packaging, construction, and interior design.
