I enjoyed speaking at the St. Mary Chamber Luncheon and sharing an update on the state of Louisiana agriculture and forestry. Thank you to the Chamber for the invitation and for the opportunity to discuss the industries that play such an important role in our state’s economy and communities.

🎶 Oh, what a night! 🎶 Fall Ball at the Old Governor’s Mansion was filled with great food, great music, and so many smiling faces. There’s nothing better than spending an evening with good friends and the people who make Louisiana such a special place.

Susan and I had a wonderful time, and we’re so thankful for the friendship, kindness, and support. Thank you to everyone who came out and made the evening one to remember.

Louisiana’s forests are an important part of our way of life. Our forestry industry supports jobs and families across the state and provides products we rely on every day. During National Forest Products Week, it’s a good time to reflect on all our forests contribute to Louisiana and the importance of keeping them healthy for future generations.

It was a pleasure attending my high school reunion at Bogue Falaya Hall in Covington. It was wonderful catching up with old friends, sharing memories, and celebrating the connections that have lasted through the years.

With heavy hearts, we mourn the loss of Kaitlyn “KK” Gallagher, 24, of Alexandria, a U.S. Forest Service wildland firefighter who lost her life in the line of duty while responding to a wildfire in Louisiana’s Kisatchie National Forest.

KK dedicated herself to protecting our natural resources and serving others. Her courage, love of the outdoors and heart for service touched the lives of many, both on and off the fire line.

We extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends and fellow firefighters. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this heartbreaking time.

Rest in peace, KK. Your service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

I always enjoy the opportunity to visit with the Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation Board of Directors and share updates on issues affecting agriculture and forestry across our state. As a Farm Bureau member myself, I appreciate their continued commitment to Louisiana’s farmers, foresters, and the industries that keep our state growing.
