Mark your calendars now to learn about black bears in Pennsylvania with Chester County Park Ranger Keith Mullin: Tuesday, June 23 at at 6 pm.

Learn how black bears are just a little different in Pennsylvania compared to other parts of the nation. Ranger Mullin will talk about their biology and habitat needs, what to do if black bears are in your area, and what not to do. In addition, he'll share some personal stories from his encounters with black bears.

Ranger Mullin worked in wildlife conservation for many years. Upon retirement, he learned the county had an open park ranger position and felt it was a great opportunity to continue the kind of work he had always enjoyed. His favorite part of the job is interacting with the public and teaching people of all ages about Chester County's wildlife, nature, and its unique habitats and wild resources. He feels fortunate to be a part of a great team of rangers who help protect parks and the resources in them to make them safe places for the public to enjoy.

SUMMER LOV'IN - The Friends of the Henrietta Hankin Library are holding a SUMMER READS BOOK NOOK TABLE SALE JUNE 1 - JUNE 22! As always we encourage you to SHOP UNTIL YOU DROP so we can raise lots of $$ for our fav library.

Unearth a Story is COMING SOON!

Our Summer Learning Program for Teens is right around the corner. Read for pleasure and earn rewords for your hard work. We have lots of fun programs planned for you too. Grades 6-12. Registration begins June 1.

After careful review, we will be ending our Elmwood Park Zoo Museum Pass memberships due to new requirements that conflict with our privacy policy.

Chester County Library passes: usable through June 30 (reserved by May 29). Henrietta Hankin Branch passes: usable through August 31 (reserved by July 31).

We know how much families love this pass. To help fill the gap, we’re expanding memberships to places like the Brandywine Zoo and the Please Touch Museum, with more cultural partners coming soon. See all other Museum Pass options at https://chescolibraries.org/using-the-library/museum-passes/.

Please note that in observance of Memorial Day, the Library will be closed today, Monday, May 25. The Library will reopen at 9:30 am on Tuesday, May 26.

Our drive through book drop is also closed through May 25. Please place all returns in drops on either side of the building. All fines will be waived for the days the library is closed.
