Summer across South Texas is in full swing with hot temperatures, with heat index values reaching up to 109°F. Heading into the weekend, isolated rain chances return mainly along the coast, but any rain will be brief and only will provide short-term relief from the heat. Make sure to stay hydrated and take plenty of AC/shade breaks if spending time outdoors.

Good morning South Texas! The Nueces River continues to recede with both sites near Tilden/Three Rivers forecast to fall below flood stage by early Friday morning. We also continue summer across South Texas with heat index values mostly under 110°F, though some sites might briefly climb as high as 114°F. Isolated seabreeze showers return this weekend, but will only provide a brief relief from the heat. Make sure to stay hydrated and take plenty of AC/shade breaks if spending time outdoors.
