Festival Fairbanks was officially designated by the City of Fairbanks to plan, organize, develop and coordinate commemorative activities for the City of Fairbanks. Not only do we celebrate, we leave lasting tributes such as Golden Heart Plaza for the Silver Anniversary of Statehood and the William Ransom Wood Centennial Bridge for the Centennial of the City of Fairbanks.

Uncle Gizmo says, For a fun, budget-friendly spring break holiday, head to the Starter Block at 123 Lacey Street in downtown Fairbanks, where a vacant lot has been transformed into a winter wonderland for the community. This spot features a free ice skating rink, making it a perfect place to bring your own skates. The downtown site also features a children's sledding hill where you can try out a variety of sleds provided by Festival Fairbanks. Let us know which one is your favorite then leave it for the others to try. It’s a great way to enjoy the lingering winter, grab some hot cocoa, a meal, or a beverage at near-by establisments and enjoy the community atmosphere.
