Our Story

Bright Futures Fairbanks recognizes that teachers and other school staff are often the first to realize a student or their family are struggling to meet basic needs. In a community with high transiency, it can be a challenge to locate the resources needed. We believe our community CAN meet every child's basic needs and we want to help connect school staff with the resources available at our many local nonprofit and community agencies. As one way of helping, we have prepared a Community Resource Guide which can be found here: http://www.k12northstar.org/Page/6445 This guide is intended as a resource for school staff to help them find help and make appropriate referrals to address the basic needs of students, which ultimately supports the school district's mission to provide an environment where all students can succeed.
