Mesa, Arizona

Save the date for our two-day I Am Moving, I Am Learning (IMIL) training! IMIL is a Head Start program enhancement that addresses childhood obesity. It fits seamlessly into activities that programs already do in classrooms and family child care homes. At this dynamic training event, participants experience active learning through movement and song. Discover ways to increase physical activity, healthy nutrition choices, and quality teaching in classroom and in homes.

Key Topics
In this IMIL training, we’re discussing:
Strategies to increase the quantity and quality of movement experiences in early childhood environments
Movement vocabulary to help educators understand foundational motor skills and engage all children in quality movement practices
Opportunities to integrate healthy nutrition messages into daily activities for young children
The importance of integrating quality movement and music into children’s daily routines to support early brain development and staff wellness

Target Audience
This training event benefits teams of two to four members, such as:
Head Start and Early Head Start program directors, managers, staff, and administrators
Health services staff, home visitors, educators, and family services staff
Head Start and Early Head Start-Child Care Partnership members

The event and training materials are free. Attendees pay for their team’s hotel, transportation, and meals.
