Fall River and surrounding areas are under heat advisory through tomorrow evening as hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
If you don't have air conditioning at home or require access to cooling shelters, Government Center, the Fall River Public Library, and our 4 senior center locations are open during business hours to the public. Additionally, YMCA Southcoast branches will open to the public as cooling centers during this time.

Are your kids taking part in SUMMER READING CLUB?
It's not just for school-age kids! Even little kids can participate by having an adult or older sibling read to them.
For every ten picture books or one chapter book a child reads (or listens to), they get entered into a grand prize drawing, to be drawn at our end-of-summer party. Kids can also earn small incentive prizes along the way.
Each week, kids can enjoy a range of fun crafts, activities, and entertainment, ranging from concerts to puppet shows to science adventures and animal visits!
So why NOT sign up for summer reading? Pick up your reading logs in the Children's Room!
