Voting & Absentee Voting Info:

DID YOU KNOW? In Wisconsin, you need to be registered to vote at your current address before you can request an absentee ballot. And if you want to register online or by mail, deadlines apply. The time to act is NOW. For the August 11 primary, online or mail-in registrations will end on July 22.

Who needs to register to vote? If you’ve moved, never voted in Wisconsin, haven’t voted in a while, changed your name, or recently completed a sentence for a felony, you need to register.

Wisconsin voters should CHECK their registration online and REGISTER if needed, at: https://myvote.wi.gov/en-us/MyVoterInfo

After your registration is updated, request your absentee ballot for the August and November elections. Making your request now will help the clerks plan for needed supplies and labor. You can always change your mind and vote at the polls, as long as you haven’t returned your ballot.

ANNOUNCING MATHER HEIGHTS COME TOGETHER WEEK ~ JUNE 1-7 . . . PRIZES WILL BE GIVEN AWAY!

Green Bay Neighborhoods has decided to postpone Good Neighbor Week throughout Green Bay to a later date due to CoVid, but we still want recognize neighbors & medical workers! You may have seen our signs sprinkled in the neighborhood.

Our Mather Heights Neighborhood Association (MHNA) board of directors has recognized & appreciates how many of you have colored hearts in your windows, chalk art on the sidewalks and blue ribbons wrapped around your trees in support of medical workers. We would like to encourage our neighbors to continue this while the pandemic is still under way. We desire our neighbors to draw closer during this time & we want to support you in those efforts!

MHNA has purchased and/or our members have donated a supply of chalk, construction paper and blue ribbon that we would like to give to those that need it. Currently we have enough chalk to share with 50 households. We will be giving this items away on Sat May 30. Watch for an event update on the exact time.

In addition; WE HAVE PRIZES!!!! Here is what you need to do to qualify:

1. Post pictures of your windows, sidewalk or trees on our page. We will pick winners for the best ones to receive gift certificates for ice cream.

2. We also want neighbors to recognize other neighbors that were caught 'paying it forward' and helping other neighbors during this time. We will award one person a gift certificate for one of the neighborhood restaurants of your choice.

We have more exciting news coming in the weeks to follow. For now, let's get Come Together Week off to a great start!

5/26/20 YARD WASTE COLLECTION DONE

DPW has been seeing piles of yard waste still at the curb. Green Bay residents are reminded that yard waste placed to the curb after Mother's Day (May 10, 2020) will not be collected by the CIty. The curbside collection program ended on Friday, May 15.

Residents must now dispose of their yard waste at 1 of the 2 Green Bay yard waste facilities for the remainder of the summer. If you have neighbors with yard waste still at the curb, please advise them. If residents don't remove yard waste from the curb, then DPW will be forced to remove it and invoice for the service. The CIty prefers not to do that.

Have a safe and enjoyable summer.

Happy Mother's Day!

Mother's Day in the United States is an annual holiday celebrated on the second Sunday in May. Mother's Day recognizes mothers, motherhood and maternal bonds in general, as well as the positive contributions that they make to society. It was established by Anna Jarvis, with the first official Mother's Day celebrated at St. Andrew's Methodist Church in Grafton, West Virginia, on May 10, 1908.

TRASH/RECYCLING COLLECTION Reminder

Green Bay-DPW has been receiving a lot of resident complaints, stating that we missed collection of their tipper carts. A limited number of the concerns were valid. But the majority of them were the result of misunderstanding the City's solid waste collection process.

DPW would like to take this opportunity to remind Green Bay residents of the rules and expectations for trash and recycling collection. Following are some common points to remember on your collection day:

1) To guarantee 100% collection, carts must be to the curb by 6:00 a.m. on your collection day...year-round. If your cart is typically emptied at 8:00 a.m., don't assume you can set it out at 7:30 a.m. and assume it will be emptied. It can be collected anytime. Late set-outs are a common source of complaints received from residents.

2) DPW does not guarantee a specific time of collection for any property. If for example a house typically has the cart emptied at 8:15 a.m., that doesn't mean it won't be emptied at at (say) 12:45 p.m. So please don't call right away if your route truck does not arrive at your expected time. Allow your driver time to do their job.

3) Collection can be temporarily halted or delayed due to vehicle breakdowns, fill-in drivers, new driver training, special assignments, driver re-assignments, etc. But DPW will always collect your carts on your collection day by 3:00 p.m.

3) More than 1 trash and 1 recycling truck may be in your neighborhood due to driver training, drivers helping out after a breakdown, or other reasons. So please don't panic if you see your neighbor's cart get tipped and yours not get tipped. DPW currently has numerous new drivers, and many routes have multiple trucks in them.

4) Trash and recycling trucks look the same. So for example if you see a truck that doesn't collect your recycling, it may be because it is a trash collection truck.

Please note these items and share them with friends and family. If you have questions or concerns, don't hesitate to contact DPW by phone or through the City website. DPW does not regularly read or respond to Facebook questions.

Happy spring time!

Hey Mather Heights Neighbors, if you were expecting packages today, check your tracking numbers to see if they were delivered. I had packages stolen off my porch on Neville and someone on Minihan suspects they also had their delivery stolen. The timestamps on my deliveries said 1:37pm and not even minutes later, my neighbor across the street came over and said a woman in a light gray Chrysler minivan stopped in front of my house, grabbed the packages and sped off. The police officer I filed the report with said people sometimes follow UPS trucks as they make deliveries. If you had stolen packages today, please file a report.

Anyone know what’s going on at Elmore Elementary School? Multiple cop car and some from Pulaski, Shawano County. Also K-9 units.
FYI for pet owners. This was posted on Nextdoor. Police were alerted, officer thought it looked like DCon. Animal control also notified. Even if this is meant for rats or mice, dogs might find it first :(
Cannot wait to see all of you and your Christmas cheer out tomorrow night starting at 6pm!
Last night, while neighbors were standing around talking across from the park, an officer pulled up. The kids gathered around him, and he took the time to talk to them, and really get to know them. It is WONDERFUL to see the Police Department interacting with these kids (and their families) in a positive way. I know they are very busy keeping our city safe, but it was nice to see him take time out of his busy schedule to make a positive impact. (I'm just sorry I didnt get his name)
Is anyone else dealing with random meat being put in their yard? It isn't the first time, and it is rather frustrating.
We live in lark and both our car and truck parked in our driveway we’re broken into last night! Watch out people. Nothing obvious was taken I think they were looking for money. I wanted to give anyone in the neighborhood a heads up.
FOUND...small drone....landed on our driveway...identify it and you get it back. Leave message here.
Hey neighbors keep your eyes open for the Christmas Grinch. Seems some lowlife is going around cutting Christmas Lights. Have had mine cut twice within a three week period. Cops will be called in the morning. So keep your eyes open.
Good Morning Mather Heights neighborhood, On Tuesday night starting at 6pm the Green Bay Metro Fire Department and Santa will be in your neighborhood collecting Christmas gifts and donations for Brown County Teens in need. This is the last of 7 parades featuring our Gifts For Teens float and your neighborhood firefighters. Please consider coming out to help us rescue Christmas. https://www.facebook.com/events/1933227440312872/?ti=icl
