Several Northeast Wisconsin school districts join the Green Bay Area Public School District in asking voters to consider a referendum this November. After 30+ years of revenue limits, and 17 years of revenue increases that have not kept up with inflation, school districts are finding it increasingly difficult to maintain school facilities and keep schools operating without the support of their community.

This article explains the financial pressures faced by school districts and why they continue to turn to referendums to ensure students have safe schools and what they need to be successful and contributing adults upon graduation.

On November 3, 2026, voters will be asked to consider a four-year, non-recurring operational referendum. The proposal comes after years of difficult budget decisions, cost-saving measures, and operational efficiencies implemented by Green Bay Area Public School District administration and the Board of Education to address ongoing financial pressures.

In this short video, Superintendent Michael Hernandez and Chief Financial Officer Angie Roble explain the factors contributing to the District's budget challenges and the steps taken to reduce costs and improve efficiency.

Did you know you can track your student's attendance using the Infinite Campus Parent mobile app?
The app provides real-time updates on absences and tardies, and parents can even submit absence requests directly through the app instead of calling the school office.

Download Campus Parent from the app store:

Open the app and search for your school district name and state.
Log in using the username and password provided by your school district.
Enable push notifications to receive instant alerts when an attendance change or absence is recorded.

🗓️ Viewing Attendance
Tap the menu icon and select Attendance or Calendar.
View daily or period-by-period breakdown of classes.
Tap specific dates marked with indicators to see if an absence or tardy was excused or unexcused.
Switch between multiple students in the household using the profile menu in the upper corner. directly to the school attendance office for review.

✅ Submitting an Absence Request
Go to the More menu tab in the app.
Select Absence Requests.
Choose the student, select the absence type (full day, arriving late, leaving early), and enter the dates.
Add comments with the reason for the absence and submit it directly to the school attendance office for review.

Today is one of our absolute favorite days of the year at Howe...T-Shirt Day!

We received our annual community t-shirts courtesy of the Green Bay Optimist Club, and the energy across our school was incredible! From students to staff, the halls were filled with big smiles as everyone put on their new shirts.
We are deeply grateful to the Green Bay Optimist Club for their continued generosity and the positive impact they bring to our school community year after year.

The 2026 Operational Referendum is a four-year, non-recurring referendum. The District is requesting only what it needs to address inflationary pressures, while maintaining its current efforts to improve academic outcomes, keep class sizes stable, and preserve the diverse programming families and communities have shared that they value. The referendum does not add programming or expand costs.

The referendum requests the following:
🔵 $29M for 2027-28
🔵 $36M for 2028-29
🔵 $44M for 2029-30
🔵 $49M for 2030-31
