For nearly three decades, Greer Community Ministries (GCM) has been the safety net our neighbors lean on when life gets hard. We deliver hot meals to homebound seniors. We fill empty pantries. We clothe children heading back to school and pull lonely seniors into rooms full of laughter and friendship. We do it all in the name of Jesus Christ, and we do it for every neighbor who walks through our doors, regardless of income, background, or circumstance.
We’re growing, and we’re prayerfully looking for someone who feels called to help us do more.
The Role
As our Director of Development, you’ll be the architect of GCM’s fundraising and community engagement story. You’ll build the strategy that fuels four life-giving ministries — our Food Pantry, Meals on Wheels, Sharon’s Closet, and Senior Dining — and you’ll be the warm, trusted face that donors, churches, businesses, and community partners know by name.
In a typical week, you might:
• Share coffee with a longtime donor and tell them about Betty, who said our Meals on Wheels deliveries make her feel “so safe.”
• Coordinate the Dick Brooks’ Meals on Wheels Golf Tournament or D&D Ford’s March for Meals.
• Draft a grant proposal that funds a major project or supports one of our programs.
• Mentor an intern from Greer Middle College discovering what nonprofit work feels like.
• Capture the photos and stories that remind our community why this work matters.
You’ll report directly to our Executive Director and have meaningful ownership of fundraising strategy, donor relationships, communications, special events, grant pipelines, and the development efforts that keep GCM thriving.
