From growing up in Kona, Hawaiʻi, to reaching the stars, Ellison Onizuka made history as the first Asian American in space. Selected in NASA’s historic 1978 astronaut class, Onizuka dedicated his life to breaking barriers, advancing aerospace engineering, and inspiring young people across the nation to dream without limits.
