Twenty-five years ago, 's Leslie Etheridge witnessed the devastating events of September 11, 2001, as an NYPD officer. Today, as director of HCDE-Center for Safe and Secure Schools, the lessons she learned that day continue to shape how she approaches school safety.
From preparing for the unexpected to strengthening communication and response strategies, Etheridge uses her experience as a first responder to help schools create safer environments for students and staff.
