Well done!!
When our primary book supplier went out of business this fall, we found ourselves waiting and waiting for books that we ordered to arrive. Record snowfall created further delays. Then one day, all the books arrived at once. The Valley Library was inundated with boxes upon boxes of items that we knew patrons were patiently waiting for at home. Our Processing Team rolled up their sleeves and got to work.
Processing is...well, a process. Each item we receive needs to be catalogued, assigned to a library, stamped, stickered, covered in mylar, and delivered to the proper location. In a typical month, Kathy and Christine process an average of 485 new books and movies. Between December and February, they processed approximately 2300 new items! These two deserve a round of applause for their Herculean efforts to get books out of boxes and into the hands of readers.
