Please join us on Tuesday, June 30th, at 6:00 p.m. for an author talk and book signing with Kansas author, Rosie Bosse.

Rosie Bosse was born and raised on a farm in north central Kansas, where she rode horses, milked cows, fed bucket calves, chopped thistles, and hid to read whenever she could.

Rosie writes Historical Westerns, where history and real-life characters are intertwined with the fiction in Rosie’s novels. She enjoys pulling tidbits from the past and making that information part of each book along with action, humor, and just a touch of romance. Each novel also includes a prologue that details the history. Much research is done to make the novels both historically and geographically accurate. She also writes children’s books, focusing on animals and life down on the farm.

The Happy McReaders Summer Reading Program is back at your local library! 📖🍟🍔 Stop by any LDRL branch location to pick up a free punch card and earn punches by returning books. Read and return 10 books to earn one free Happy Meal!

Available at participating libraries and McDonald’s locations, valid now through September 30, 2026. Books must be returned directly to the front desk to redeem punches. FREE SUMMER MOVIE!

Come out to the 4th Street Theatre, Inc. on Friday, June 26th at 7:00 p.m. to watch the 1999 hit movie, "The Mummy," starring Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz.

At an archaeological dig in the ancient city of Hamunaptra, an American serving in the French Foreign Legion accidentally awakens a mummy who begins to wreak havoc as he searches for the reincarnation of his long-lost love.

This program is for teens and adults. Rated PG-13.
