Family Promise Metrowest's mission is to transform the lives of families with children facing homelessness by mobilizing a diverse community to provide shelter, education, and comprehensive support. Family Promise Metrowest offers a comprehensive, community response to families who are facing homelessness through four programs that address a spectrum of housing and stabilization needs: Our Shelter program offers temporary housing to families with children that have lost their home; the SAIL program supports families that graduate from our shelter for one to two years to ensure their successful transition back into community housing; our LIFE program helps families facing eviction or shelter entry remain in safe housing; and our Steps to Success program, which provides educational and career-building assistance to help families increase their income and create stable careers. By providing encouragement, guidance, and the resources to reach their goals, we help motivated, hard-working families move out of poverty and into stable, sustainable homes.

Team building with a purpose! 💙

Last week, 18 MathWorks employees rolled up their sleeves for a day of service at Family Promise Metrowest—and their impact will last well beyond the day.

🌿 Tackled maintenance and landscaping projects
🛝 Helped improve our outdoor play space
🪨 Created personalized rocks for our Volunteer Garden
📦 Donated supplies and landscaping gear
💙 Learned more about our mission and the families we serve

Their hard work may have looked like small projects, but the impact is anything but small. Every repair, landscaping improvement, and thoughtful touch helps create a safer, more comfortable and welcoming environment for families staying in our shelter.

And we especially loved seeing each employee decorate a rock for our Volunteer Garden—leaving behind a little piece of themselves and a lasting reminder of the difference they made.

We’re so grateful to MathWorks for bringing teamwork, talent and generosity together to strengthen our shelter and our community.

Help keep local children warm, cozy, and ready for winter! Your generosity can make a meaningful difference for families facing housing insecurity. ❄️

From September 14–October 16, donate new or clean, gently used jackets, snow pants, and boots for kids from infant through adult sizes. We’re also collecting new hats, buffs, mittens, and gloves.

Drop-Off Location: 6 Mulligan Street, Natick, MA. Our parking lot and public entrance are located off South Avenue. We’re so grateful to Bessemer Trust of Boston for another meaningful day of giving! 💙

On September 15, their team assembled and donated 20 household cleaning baskets for families supported through Family Promise Metrowest’s SAIL and LIFE programs.

From purchasing items based on our needs list to packing each laundry basket, they made every detail count. They even added a colorful bow and a personal note filled with good wishes. 💌

These baskets provide families with practical essentials—and a little extra encouragement—as they work toward stability and a fresh start.

We’re especially grateful for partners like Bessemer Trust who listen to what families need, bring generous resources to the table, and make it easy to turn support into meaningful impact.

Last month, we completed the final landscaping around a very special addition to the Family Promise grounds: a beautiful memorial bench honoring Maureen Wooster, a cherished volunteer, longtime board member, and dear friend to so many in our community.

This spring, family, friends, volunteers, and members of the Family Promise community gathered to celebrate Maureen’s remarkable life and the lasting impact she had on all of us. Shortly afterward, her memorial bench was installed, creating a special place to sit, reflect, and remember.

We are deeply grateful to Lynch Landscape and Tree Service for generously installing the bench and creating the beautiful landscaping that surrounds it. Their thoughtfulness and care have helped transform this space into a peaceful and meaningful tribute to Maureen.

We hope that everyone who pauses here feels a little of what Maureen brought to Family Promise and to the lives she touched: warmth, generosity, kindness, friendship, and an unwavering commitment to helping families find hope and stability.

Thank you, Maureen, for everything you gave to our community. Your spirit lives on in the people you inspired, the families you supported, and the countless hearts you touched. Your place at Family Promise—and in our hearts—will always remain. ❤️

🌞 Summer Volunteer Highlights!

This summer, we had so many amazing volunteers show up at Family Promise Metrowest with big hearts! 💛

Beth from Fox Hill Garden Club brought our gardens to life 🌻 CJ and Stan from Paradise Moving & Storage helped us transport a generous furniture donation 🚚 and Anna, Alica & Tessa created thoughtful Welcome Baskets for a new shelter family 🧺.

We are so grateful to all these wonderful volunteers who helped make a meaningful difference for families in our community. 💙

From lending a helping hand to making a meaningful difference, our volunteers showed up in big ways this summer!

First up is teen volunteer Lily, who helped out at our July Natick Nights table, where kids played “Knock Out Family Homelessness with FPM” while learning about some of the leading causes of housing insecurity for families with children.

Then there’s Sean Evans of Spoke and Tire Bikes in Natick, who generously provided in-kind tune-ups for two donated adult bikes. One went to a SAIL dad who uses it to get to work when the weather allows, while the other is shared by a mom and her teenage daughters. Mom was especially excited to finally learn how to ride! It’s amazing what a little time, talent, and generosity can do.
