Bridgeway Connections is committed to removing barriers that can make it difficult for families to access essential support. Through therapeutic nutrition support, transportation assistance, and community programming, the organization works to provide practical resources that allow families to focus on what matters most: healing, growth and well-being.

Serving clients of Bridgeway Integrated Healthcare Services across Utah, Bridgeway Connections is building the capacity to expand its programs and reach more families throughout the state.

Through the Utah Division of Multicultural Affairs Capacity Grant, Bridgeway Connections will develop a comprehensive strategic plan to strengthen its organizational foundation, guide decision-making and support sustainable growth. The plan will establish clear priorities, align resources with the organization’s mission and create a roadmap for expanding services thoughtfully and effectively.

This investment will help Bridgeway Connections strengthen coordination across its programs and build a lasting foundation for providing meaningful support to neurodivergent individuals and their families.

Alianza Venezolana de Utah supports Latino and Venezuelan communities across Utah through education, civic engagement, humanitarian assistance and social integration. With a strong presence in Utah and Salt Lake counties, the organization connects community members with legal, social and educational resources while creating opportunities to celebrate culture, build meaningful connections and strengthen communities.

Through the Utah Division of Multicultural Affairs Capacity Grant, Alianza Venezolana de Utah will launch a comprehensive leadership development program featuring classes, seminars and practical training. The initiative will strengthen the organization’s board, prepare emerging leaders and build a leadership pipeline that supports long-term sustainability.

By investing in strong leadership and organizational capacity, Alianza Venezolana de Utah is building a stronger foundation to continue connecting people with resources and creating lasting community impact.

Multicultural Youth Leadership Day is about helping young people recognize the value of their experiences, find confidence in their voices, and understand the impact they can have in their communities.
When young people know their stories matter, they are empowered to build connections, pursue opportunities, and help shape the future of our state.
As our Associate Director Eddy Thompson shared, “We want them to succeed. We want them to lead. Because that helps everybody.”

At Multicultural Youth Leadership Day, student leaders participated in a storytelling workshop led by Ciriac Alvarez Valle, designed to help them reflect on the experiences, values, and dreams that shape who they are.

Through the “Puzzle of Me,” students explored four important pieces of their story: their heritage and background, their experiences, their personality, and their goals. By bringing these pieces together, they discovered how each part contributes to the person they are today and the leader they are becoming.

Your story is made up of countless moments, influences, and aspirations. Take a moment to complete your own Puzzle of Me. What experiences have shaped you? What values guide you? What goals are you working toward? How do the unique pieces of your puzzle come together to tell your story?

The Community Quest is a passport-style experience that invites you to explore local businesses and community spaces across Utah. Each stop in the passport highlights places that reflect the cultures, traditions, and everyday gathering spaces that make our communities vibrant and connected.

As you visit participating locations, you can check off individual quests, discover new spots, and learn more about the people and stories behind them. Share your journey on social media using to inspire others to explore, celebrate your favorite discoveries, and see where the Community Quest takes fellow participants across the state.

Magnify Utah hopes people will share their experiences with the Community Quest online, whether it’s making an impact or helping people find spaces to engage with.

It has been a couple of months, and we’re still thinking about the energy, inspiration, and connections from Multicultural Youth Leadership Day.

This event wouldn’t be possible without the incredible speakers, presenters, mentors, volunteers, and community partners who invested their time, knowledge, and encouragement in Utah’s future leaders.

A special thank you to Lt. Governor Deidre Henderson for inspiring students to engage in their communities, keynote speaker Ciriac Alvarez Valle for empowering students to embrace and share their stories, and emcee Neveah Parker for bringing energy and enthusiasm to the day.

Thank you to every mentor, presenter, career fair participant, performer, and community partner who shared your experiences, offered guidance, and helped students explore new possibilities.

Thank you for investing in Utah’s next generation of leaders.

Did you know Black pioneers were among the earliest settlers to arrive in Utah in 1847? Black men and women traveled west with pioneer groups—many under enslavement—and played an essential role in the territory's early development through their labor, knowledge, and skills.
Today, Utah's Black community continues to grow and thrive. Immigration from African nations such as Ethiopia, Somalia, Nigeria, Kenya, Rwanda, and Sudan, alongside Afro-Caribbean communities from Jamaica and Haiti, has brought new languages, traditions, faiths, businesses, and flavors that enrich communities across the state.
Pick up a Community Quest passport and get out and explore!
