There are 23 new bestsellers, five new movies, six new audiobooks, six new music CDs, 42 new children's books, and 127 other new books, including seventeen that are available online.

The new bestsellers this week include "The Sound of Regret," "The Knave and the Moon," and "What to Cook When You Don’t Feel Like Cooking: Make It Fast." The new movies this week include "The Mandalorian and Grogu," "The Mandalorian and Grogu [Blu-ray]," and "The Breadwinner [Blu-ray]."

Today, the Seymour Library is open until 6 pm; however, last Friday, we closed at noon for most staff to be trained in adult & infant CPR AED. We also celebrated 35 years of service for two of our behind-the-scenes staff members.

We are now taking applications for a permanent part-time Youth Services Program Specialist for the Seymour Library.

QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma
Good technology, customer service, organizational, and clerical skills required
Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Google Drive
Experience with and a love for children
Driver’s license with a good driving record

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Planning and conducting children’s programs, shelving children’s materials, and assisting at the Kids Room help desk.

Schedule averaging 28 hours/week includes daytime, evening, and Saturday hours:

Week One:
Tuesday 10 am to 7 pm
Wednesday 9 am to 2 pm
Thursday 11 am to 7 pm
Friday 9 am to 6 pm

Week Two:
Tuesday 10 am to 7 pm
Wednesday 9 am to 5:30 pm
Thursday 10 am to 7 pm
Saturday 9 am to 1:30 pm

SALARY: $17/hour.

BENEFITS:
Paid holidays if scheduled. Pro-rated sick, vacation, and personal days after six months.

In 1995, Dolly Parton started mailing books to children in her home county to inspire children to love reading in honor of her dad, who couldn’t read or write.

That idea lives here too. Every month, 765 children in Jackson County find a book in the mailbox — because of neighbors who fund it, volunteers who run it, and a woman from Sevier County, TN who started it all.
