Not every Field House update is glamorous… but this one is BIG. This week, our crew started installing the track system for the sports netting that will eventually surround our playing surfaces! 🏀⚽️

We know MANY of you have been asking about the netting and after a whole lot of patience, it’s finally IN PROGRESS!

It may not look like much yet, but this is one of those “trust the process” projects. The work is tedious so thank you for hanging in there with us! We can’t wait for the finished product. 🙌

(And yes, we see the dust. Please don’t judge us.. no one was ever meant to get this up close and personal with these support beams. 😅)

This year, the Soldotna Field House was honored with the 2026 Perseverance Award at Industry Appreciation Day.

"The story stretches back more than 40 years, to the opening of the Central Peninsula Sports Center in 1983. By 2000, plans for the surrounding recreation complex were already envisioning a multi-purpose indoor Field House. What followed were years of studies, community meetings, designs, funding proposals, advisory groups, and more than a few obstacles along the way.

The Field House standing today represents far more than a new building. It represents years of listening, adapting, problem-solving, and refusing to give up on an idea that could make our community better."
