Doors of Warren

You’ve probably sat beside part of our wedding.

Those doors hanging all over Beautiful Whirl’d weren’t originally restaurant decor.

It started when BRITE, right next door, had a bunch of old doors in their basement and randomly asked Mary and me if we wanted them.

Mary immediately said yes.

I asked what she was going to do with them.

She had absolutely no idea. 😂 She just wanted them.

Then we started planning our wedding.

We got married June 30, 2018, on the property we were renting at the time. The ceremony was in a pine grove that we turned into our own little chapel—benches made from logs and planks, old reclaimed windows hanging between the trees, a cross, and whatever else we could create ourselves.

The reception was just outside the grove, and we needed something to separate it from the neighbor’s property.

Suddenly Mary knew why she needed those doors.

They became a wall.

But as the wedding got closer, Mary was getting anxious, and I told her she needed to art.

So the wall became an art gallery.

She started covering the doors with song lyrics and Scriptures that meant something to us. Then we realized there was no possible way she was finishing all of them before the wedding.

So I jumped in.

Then we realized there was no possible way we were finishing them before the wedding.

So friends jumped in too. 😂

By the wedding, we had 18 doors forming this giant, weird, homemade outdoor gallery for our guests.

Afterward, we actually displayed them temporarily at Beautiful Whirl’d as one of the art shows we used to host. Then they went into our garage.

And sat there.

Until 2020.

When the pandemic shut us down, we remodeled the restaurant and decided it was finally time to give the doors a permanent home.

Today, 17 of the original 18 are still hanging inside Beautiful Whirl’d.

The 18th was purchased by a customer. After somebody noticed the empty spot it left behind, another person donated a painted door to fill it.

So if you’ve ever sat at one of our tables and wondered why there are a bunch of old doors covered in lyrics, Scripture, paintings and random spoons hanging beside you…

Now you know.

They were part of our wedding before they were part of Beautiful Whirl’d. ❤️

An's House will be closed for our annual vacation from Saturday August 8 through Sunday August 30.
Every year, our last week before vacation is very busy, so we prepared plenty of fresh ingredients.

UNFORTUNATELY , this year, i didn’t realize that it overlaps with the Italian Festival untiL yesterday 🥲, and we may not be able to sell everything we planned for.
If you've been thinking about visiting An's House, we'd truly appreciate it if you could come this week instead. Better yet, bring your family or friends and enjoy a meal together.

Beautiful Whirl'd will be closed next week. So get your pink smoothie now!

Every year we make the same decision.

When we first opened, we stayed open during the Warren Italian Festival.

The reality?

Most people were enjoying the festival food, parking downtown became difficult, and it ended up being one of our slowest weeks of the year.

We noticed a lot of businesses getting frustrated about it.

Instead, we decided to look at it differently.

If downtown is going to slow down anyway, why not turn it into something good?

For years now, we’ve closed during festival week so our team can spend time with their families, take vacations, relax, and recharge. We even encourage our staff to plan trips during that week.

It’s become one of our favorite traditions.

So here’s your friendly heads-up:

Beautiful Whirl’d will be closed Monday, August 3 through Saturday, August 8, reopening on Monday, August 10.

If you’re craving your favorite wrap, smoothie, açaí bowl, or lemonade, we’d love to see you this week before we take our annual break.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to build a business that allows us to care for both our customers and the people who make Beautiful Whirl’d what it is.

We’ll see you this week… and again after a little time to recharge. 💚

River Rock at PACKARD!! We didn’t want to cancel one of the best shows of the year, so the Michael Jackson tribute will be down the street at W.D. Packard Music Hall.

The Robins Theatre will be showing the iconic movie Stand By Me.
