Connections for Youth - Support for Families

NOAS exists to inspire, develop, and nurture enduring support & connections for current and former foster youth and those at risk of coming into care. There is an urgent need for foster caregivers in NE Ohio and NOAS is here to support families and children who need our help. We recruit, train and assist potential caregivers who want to make a difference in the life of a child.

As Foster Care Awareness Month comes to a close, we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supports children and youth in foster care.

To our foster parents, kinship caregivers, families, community partners, advocates, donors, volunteers, and supporters — thank you for showing up, speaking up, and making a difference.

Because the truth is: it takes all of us.

Together, we can help ensure children and youth have access to the support, stability, encouragement, and connections they deserve.

Thank you for standing alongside children and families in our community — not just this month, but all year long. 💙

When people think about foster care, they often picture young children. But teens in foster care need families too.

They need someone to cheer them on at a game, help with homework, teach them how to drive, celebrate milestones, and remind them they matter — even on the hard days.

Most of all, they need guidance, encouragement, and someone who believes in them.

You don’t have to be perfect. You just have to be willing to show up.

Could that person be you?

NOAS provides training, support, and guidance every step of the way — at no cost to families.

This Everyday Heroes. Everyday Homes. spotlight reminds us that caring for a child means more than providing a roof over their head—it means helping them discover who they are and who they can become.

Amanda Kennedy believes in the power of connection, opportunity, and community. From sports and theater to clubs and new experiences, she encourages children to explore their interests, build confidence, and create meaningful relationships that will support them long after they leave her home.

Thank you, Amanda, for investing your time, energy, and heart into helping children feel seen, supported, and empowered.

As Foster Care Awareness Month comes to a close, we’re grateful for every foster parent who opens their home and every community member who supports children and families along the way. The need for caring adults and supportive communities doesn’t end when the month does.

Join us tomorrow, May 27, from 3–5 PM at the NOAS parking lot, 5000 E. Market Street, Suite 26, Warren, for a FREE gourmet popsicle and a chance to learn more about foster care and the many ways you can make a difference in the life of a child.

We look forward to meeting you and sharing how, together, we can help create brighter futures for children and families in our community.
