Now, the Trump administration is cutting this critical funding. Despicable. We should be expanding opportunities for families, not taking them away.

Last Wednesday, I visited the Free Clinic of Culpeper to meet with regional leaders and community partners to discuss the health care disparities affecting our region.

in 1965, President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Medicare and Medicaid Act into law. This landmark legislation launched Medicare for seniors and Medicaid for low-income families.

Today, these vital safety net programs are under attack.

I will continue fighting to protect and strengthen Medicare and Medicaid because every American deserves access to affordable, quality health care.

I hear from veterans across the district who cannot get the care they need because of staffing shortages and delays at the Fredericksburg VA Health Care Center. It’s unacceptable.

That’s why I’m leading legislation that would require the VA to publish monthly staffing and vacancy data for VA clinics.
