Every week, my team works to help Coloradans cut through federal red tape and get the answers—and results—they deserve.

This week alone, my office helped return $42,770 to constituents across Colorado's 8th Congressional District.

One constituent had been working to resolve an IRS issue since February. After my office stepped in, we helped secure nearly $12,000 that was owed to the taxpayer and also helped another constituent avoid unnecessary IRS penalties and interest.

My wife, Anne, and I had a wonderful time at Sabor last night celebrating the incredible Hispanic food, culture, and small businesses that make our state so special.

As the only Hispanic member of Colorado’s congressional delegation, I’m grateful for opportunities to celebrate the rich Latino traditions, spirit, and hardworking families that have helped shape Colorado and strengthen our communities.

Today, we observe Purple Heart Day and honor the brave Americans who were wounded or made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our nation.

Established by General George Washington on August 7, 1782, the Purple Heart is the oldest military decoration still awarded to members of our Armed Forces. It stands as a timeless symbol of courage, sacrifice, and devotion to duty.

As an Army veteran, I know the extraordinary commitment required to wear our nation's uniform. Today, we honor every Purple Heart recipient, remember those who never came home, and thank the families who have sacrificed alongside them.

May God bless our heroes, and may we never forget the price of freedom. 🇺🇸

Thank you to the brave firefighters and first responders with South Adams County Fire
Department for their swift response to a grass fire in Commerce City.

Because of their quick action, the fire was contained, nearby residents remained safe, and no injuries were reported. Colorado is fortunate to have dedicated public servants who put themselves in harm's way to protect our communities every day.

On August 1, 1876, President Ulysses S. Grant signed the proclamation making Colorado the 38th state in the Union. Because we joined exactly 100 years after the signing of the Declaration of Independence, we're proudly known as the Centennial State.

Over the past 150 years, generations of hardworking Coloradans have built thriving communities, cultivated our rich agricultural heritage, protected our breathtaking public lands, served our nation in uniform, and helped shape one of the greatest states in America.
