On Monday 27 July 2026, we’re testing Australia’s new national warning system AusAlert.

An AusAlert test message will be sent to all compatible mobile devices across Australia at the same time. Depending on your location, you may receive the alert between 11am and 2pm local time. The test will occur during school hours in all states and territories.

AusAlert messages may appear on the phones, tablets and smart watches of children and teens. Apple iPads will not receive AusAlerts.

To prepare for AusAlert, parents, carers and guardians should help children understand:
📱 what AusAlert is.
⚠️what alerts mean.
✅ what to do if they receive an alert.

You may have already received information from your school about AusAlert testing. Follow your school’s advice about phone and device use.

Emergency alerts might be unfamiliar or unsettling for some young people. Our resources for parents, carers and students explain AusAlert and provide support information. Link in the comments. 👇

Stay out of floodwater. 🔔 Residents are reminded to avoid contact with floodwater, creeks and rivers. ⚠️ SA Water are dealing with sewage contamination in parts of the Hills, including Aldgate, Bridgewater, Stirling and Woodside.

❌ Avoid floodwater, ❌ Never drive through flooded roads, ❌ Stay out of fast-moving water.
