We loved visiting the new polyclinic and hurricane shelter in Duck Run 1!

The new infrastructure is game changing for the community and for the other surrounding villages that will greatly benefit from the new polyclinic!

“Health is wealth” is a common saying in so many cultures and languages and that is true!

Last week we enjoyed participating in the inauguration of a new Polyclinic in Duck Run 1 funded by the EU and the Government of Belize, a big milestone in improving access to healthcare services for communities in Cayo district.
The new polyclinic will benefit 6,000 people living in Duck Run 1, Duck Run 2, Duck Run 3, Billy White, Los Tambos and Santa Familia, who will no longer have to travel to San Ignacio or elsewhere to get medical attention as the polyclinic will be able to provide some of the essential health services. This is game changing for the communities.

A newly constructed hurricane in Duck Run 1 was also completed right on time before the hurricane season and inaugurated last week.

Through , the European Union is investing in infrastructure, people, and systems that deliver results.
