🛣️ Safety improvements at the Swanson Road and North Candia Road intersection are now complete!

The improvements have been fully operational since mid-August 2026 and include:

🚦 New traffic lights and controlled crossings at all points of the intersection
🚶 Footpath widening and tactile paving
🚲 Cycle facilities
🛣️ New road markings and signage
✅ Other associated safety improvements

We love our upgraded Henderson Station! ❤️🚄

The station has been upgraded with a new third platform, extra track capacity, improved customer amenities and staff facilities, helping support more frequent and reliable train services when the City Rail Link opens on Sunday 13 September!

UPDATE: Kia ora Auckland, Metservice have updated the Heavy Rain Watch to a Heavy Rain Warning - Orange🟧 🌧☔️ for Auckland, including Aotea Great Barrier Island.
🕒 From 9am Saturday 29 August until 2am Sunday 30 August (17 Hours).
Expect 60 to 100 mm of rain, possibly more in localised downpours. Peak rates of 15 to 25 mm/h, but possible 25 to 40 mm/hr in downpours mainly from this evening. Low chance of upgrading to a Red Warning.

MetService New Zealand has issued a Heavy Rain Watch 🌧☔️ for Auckland, including Aotea Great Barrier Island.

🕒 From 9am to Midnight Saturday 29 August (15 hours).

Periods of heavy rain, and amounts may approach warning criteria and possibly exceed them in localised areas if downpours occur. Moderate chance of upgrading to a Warning.

• Check your drains and gutters to ensure they aren’t blocked. These can cause flooding issues during heaving rain.
• Take extreme care if you are driving in heavy rain, and delay trips if possible. Do not drive through flood water.

📢 From 10 October opening hours at four Henderson-Massey libraries and community hubs will change slightly to better meet community demand and visiting patterns.

Among the changes, Te Atatū Peninsula Library will be opening for longer hours, while the opening hours of Te Manawa​, Waitākere Central Library Henderson, and Rānui Community Library will be a little shorter.

🚌 Westgate Te Waiarohia bus station is now open!

It’s great to see this new bus station open in Henderson-Massey, making bus travel across west and northwest Auckland easier and more convenient.

The station is home to some of Auckland’s fastest-growing bus routes, including the WX1, 11T and 11W.
