Summertime is a special season. As Afognak Alutiiq People, we value time spent with family and friends, gathering together and making memories. Each season brings opportunities to share traditions, learn from our Elders, enjoy the beauty of our homelands, and appreciate the longer days spent together. These moments strengthen our connection to one another and to our culture.

Our Alutiiq values teach us the importance of caring for one another, sharing knowledge, honoring our Elders, and working together for the well-being of all. Whether gathered around the table, on the land, or at community events, these connections remind us who we are and where we come from. We are family. We are community. We are Afognak.

Quyanaa (thank you) to each Shareholder who participated in the 2026 Annual Meeting of Shareholders. This year's gathering was an opportunity to connect, reflect, and celebrate our shared identity as Afognak Alutiiq People while reviewing the performance and direction of our Corporation and electing directors to represent our Shareholders.

Guided by the theme, "Saltwater and Spruce: Weaving Resilience Through Generations," and dedicated to "our Alutiiq People whose strength flows through the tides and trees of Afognak," the meeting honored the enduring connection between our People, our culture, and our homeland. The Tamamta Dance Group made up of Alutiiq people from the Pacific Northwest Alutiiq Culture Camp provided the Cultural Welcome. Shareholder James “Jim” Dunham delivered the keynote address, speaking on the importance of Shareholders being active and engaged with our Corporation. He reminded us that our strength is not measured by the number of shares we hold, but by our commitment to standing together as one people, strengthening our collective voice, and creating opportunities for future generations.

We extend our gratitude to Director Eric Olsen for his seven years of dedicated service on the Board of Directors. Eric's commitment to our Shareholders and his steady leadership have made a lasting impact on our Corporation. His contributions are appreciated, and he will be greatly missed.

This year once again demonstrated the strength of our Shareholder base through strong participation in our Board elections. Your involvement reflects a community that is engaged, invested, and committed to the future of Afognak. Beyond the elections, the Annual Meeting provides an important opportunity to hear stories, celebrate successes, share ideas, and remain grounded in who we are as Afognak Alutiiq People.

Congratulations to Brian Kewan, Thomas Nelson, Sr., and Marci Orth, who were elected to serve three-year terms on the Board of Directors, and congratulations to Loretta Nelson, who was elected to serve a one-year term. We thank all candidates who stepped forward to serve and each Shareholder who took the time to vote.

Quyanaa to all who participated in this year's meeting. We look forward to continuing this journey together and seeing our Shareholders again next year.
