The Day of Caring for both the Middle School and High School is a huge undertaking. Working collaboratively with the Kennebec Valley United Way, we coordinate 1000 students and 100 staff members to volunteer for a morning to make the world a better place.
Thank you to our students who give of their time with the Cony spirit of giving!
Thank you to Brian York and Jenny Watson, our Assistant Principals, for coordinating both events.
Thank you to the United Way for sponsoring our school and many others. Did you know that Cony was the first to start the Day of Caring way back?
We appreciate all of the volunteers from the United Way, including Mayor O'Brien, who cooked and served lunch for us. We appreciate City Manager Jared Mills who kicked off the day for us with a speech about the importance of volunteering!
This event is not possible without the City of Augusta staff who supervise and provide direction for the sites
Thank you to all who stepped up and made Day of Caring a success.
Our Cony school nutrition crew made the lunch on the field smooth and simple.
Our custodial crew had students set up to work around campus and stepped in to support anything that popped up in a moment's notice.
Thank you to First Student our school bus company who dropped off and picked up all of our students!
Thank you to the High school and Middle school staff who went with kids to their respective locations and kept kids safe and supported. We appreciate the Guidance Dept for passing out waters and sending students to the right buses.
Thank you to Middle school staff who covered classes and lunches allowing this day to be possible.
We appreciate our secretaries who took on all of the extra phone calls and logistics that popped up with students all over the city. Special thank you to Lauri Chambers who made the student slide show.
Thank you to the students who helped organize the tshirts to give out to homerooms.
We appreciate our Ed techs who stepped into roles as needs arose and made the day go off without a hitch.
We appreciate Aroma Joes who set up for students during the lunch.
These two days don't happen without the help of EVERYONE!
