Public Statement from the Chiefs Office – Bohemia Fire Department

Due to the forecasted inclement weather conditions expected on Memorial Day, the difficult decision has been made to cancel the Annual Bohemia Memorial Day Parade scheduled for Monday, May 25, 2026. This decision was made with the safety of our residents, veterans, participants, and marching organizations as our top priority.

While the parade has been canceled, we encourage all members of the community to join us for our Memorial Day Services and Special Veterans Tribute beginning at 10:30 AM at the Bohemia Fire Department Headquarters, located at 950 Pearl Street, Bohemia, NY.

Memorial Day is a time to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. We remain committed to recognizing their courage and dedication alongside our community.

We thank everyone for their understanding and continued support, and we hope you will join us as we come together to pay tribute to our nation’s heroes.

Rescue 8 on scene of an MVA with minor entrapment this morning. Crews quickly put tools into operation popping the door in under 1 minute. All units were under the command of Assistant Chief Mistler. Patient care was handled by the Community Ambulance Company. Great job by all on scene.

The Bohemia Fire Department proudly participated for the first time in the 19th Annual Chuck Varese Extrication Tournament hosted by the Northport Fire Department. Members competed alongside fellow local departments in a fast-paced extrication challenge, all while supporting a great cause and strengthening regional teamwork and skills.

Great job to all of the members who represented the department with professionalism and dedication throughout the event.

Bohemia Fire Department was activated for a vehicle fire at approximately 3:45 AM. Chiefs arrived on scene to find a fully involved vehicle with extension into the surrounding brush. Engine 7 arrived shortly after and stretched a line, quickly bringing the fire under control and preventing further spread.
