Special thanks goes out to our incredible senior center volunteers and community partners, Happy to Help Caregiving - Northeast Ohio, Cherished Companions Home Care, University Hospitals, Geauga Campus, Western Reserve Area Agency On Aging Community, Chardon Senior Center Woodcarving Club, The Geauga Renaissance Choral Group, and the Aquiligean Garden Club!

Geauga County Department on Aging hosted 65 seniors at today’s Lake County Captains baseball game. In addition, we were honored to have our very own Geauga Renaissance Choral Group invited to sing the 🇺🇸 National Anthem prior to the game! ⚾️ The choral group’s leaders, Hildred and Ed Tornberg, were recognized in the pre-game on-field festivities as this week’s LC Captains Spectacular Seniors; honoring Hildred and Ed’s 20 years of volunteering with leading the singing group. 🏆❤️

Honored for their volunteer service to Geauga County Department on Aging, Hildred and Ed have faithfully coordinated and led our Geauga Renaissance Choral Group for the past 20 years. The group meets for weekly practice at our Chardon Senior Center, and performs at special events in the community. Thank you to Hildred and Ed for their dedication, passion, volunteerism, and community outreach on behalf of GDA. Geauga County Department on Aging

Geauga County Department on Aging hosted a Cyber Security class today at Chardon Senior Center. We were pleased to welcome retired FBI Agent, Bob Brooker, as our guest speaker on the topic. Key issues addressed were internet, e-mail, and phone scams. In addition, Bob discussed steps one can take to protect oneself from such scams. Our Out-to-Lunch Group met today at Kaballos Mexican Kitchen in Newbury. It’s so nice to spend a beautiful afternoon with friends, enjoying a great meal together! Join us! Yesterday, Chardon Senior Center hosted our monthly Make and Take Baking Class. This month’s class focused on how to make a Lemon Bavarian Crème Pie. 18 participants were directed through step-by-step instruction and all walked away with beautiful and delicious pies! 🍋

Today, Geauga County Department on Aging partnered with JKL Tours for a bus trip to downtown CLE. We celebrated America 250 by visiting historic houses of worship and learning about the history of the communities and immigrants who built them. We also enjoyed a delicious lunch at Pier W. We had a group of 50 people, and everyone enjoyed the day together! Past memories were shared and new memories were made! Geauga County Department on Aging

Chardon Senior Center was pleased to host Geauga Public Health today for an informative program on the new Mandated Operation and Maintenance of Septic Systems.
